Morning Call - December 27, 2017
Wet and unpleasent east
Brighter north & west

Issued: 0530hrs Wednesday 27th December 2017
Duty forecaster: Garry Nicholson

A covering of snow for some, mostly higher ground

Good morning,

Low pressure centred over south-east England will drift slowly toward the Low Countries today. Strong to gale force northerly winds for the English Channel and south-east.

Fronts pivot across central & eastern England bringing persistent rain and some snow over higher ground in the Midlands and Home Counties. Mostly sleet and slush at low levels.

Brighter skies for the west and north, and many places in northern England and Scotland staying dry all day. Bands of wintry showers for some Irish Sea coasts, plus northern parts of Scotland and Ireland. A few showers for south-west England.

Feeling chilly in the brisk winds. Today's top temperatures only 1 to 5C.

Have a great day.
Garry
