Morning Call - March 11, 2018
Dry and bright north
Bursts of rain south

Issued: 0530hrs Sunday 13th March 2018
Duty forecaster: Garry Nicholson

Generally mild

Good morning,

Slack low pressure influences the entire British Isles today, primarily centred toward the south-west. An occluded front lies north of Scotland, and a series of fronts extend back across the North Sea.

Many places will be dry and bright, especially across northern areas, with good spells of sunshine through the day. Fog patches in the morning will clear, but some stubborn areas of cloud may persist.

Fronts pivoting northwards from Biscay will generate areas of showers or locally longer periods of rain for southern Britain. Some heavy or thundery bursts spreading north across south-west England & Wales in the afternoon and evening.

Winds very light in the north, but easterlies will strengthen in the south, becoming increasingly blustery in the south-west.

Today's top temperatures will reach a pleasant 10 to 13C for most places, locally 15C in south-east England.

Have a great day.
Garry
