Morning Call - March 05, 2018
Chilly
Rain and Showers

Issued: 0530hrs Monday 5th March 2018
Duty forecaster: Matthew Hugo

Chilly, especially in the north but less-cold than of late and remaining rather unsettled

Good morning,

It's a chilly start to Monday with some frost and icy conditions in the north, but this much less of an issue than compared with of late. Through the morning and low pressure dominates to bring some rain and showers across more southern and western areas in particular, while drier and perhaps brighter in the east.

Through the afternoon and not a great deal of change is forecast with still some showers in the west, perhaps even some longer spells of rain locally and with perhaps some wintry precipitation possible across high ground in Scotland. Less-cold than of late, especially across England and Wales with a continued thaw of lying snow, but chilly in the north.

Into Monday evening and overnight and weak weather fronts maintain a risk of some patchy rain or showers, at times, despite some drier and clearer intervals as well. Rather chilly, frost and local ice risk in the north, but temperatures generally remaining above freezing across England and Wales.
