Bitterly Cold
Significant Snow For Some

Issued: 0530hrs Sunday 18th March 2018
Duty forecaster: Matthew Hugo

Bitterly cold through the rest of Sunday with some further snow showers, especially across England and Wales.

Good morning,

It's yet another distinctly wintry start with further overnight snow showers in places across England and Wales bringing some further accumulations. It is, however, a mainly dry and sunny start across Scotland and Ireland. Through the rest of Sunday morning and further snow showers, with blowing and drifting snow are possible across England and Wales with a bitterly cold wind-chill factor too.

Into Sunday evening and overnight and many areas will be dry but it will be another very cold night indeed for late March. A widespread harsh frost is expected, especially over snow cover and this will be accentuated by a continued light or moderate, perhaps fresh easterly breeze across England and Wales.

Matthew
